Pick a country, its networks and the providers you want to compare. Each network and provider combination is one test with a real handset on that network: you see what the provider reports and what actually arrived.
Scroll: the same message goes through every step of a test.

01
Pick a country
You start with the destination. The console lists the networks of that country that can be tested, each with its MCCMNC.
02
Its operators, one by one
Each network is a real test handset connected to that operator. We get the number: you add no recipients. Some networks use a ported number (MNP).
03
One message, every provider
You pick one or more providers. The same sender and the same text go out through each provider to each network, in parallel.
04
Two signals per test
The provider returns its DLR. The handset, on its own, receives the message or not. Sometimes they disagree: a delivered DLR does not prove the SMS arrived, nor with which sender or text.
05
The matrix
Each row is a network and each column a provider. At a glance you see which route really delivers on each operator and which one changes the sender or the content.

Received
The handset received nothing: there is no sender or text to compare. A missing reception does not mean the message arrived unchanged.
Your own routes
Test Routes: your routes, on your numbers.
To check the routes of a country on your own phones, use Test Routes: you pick the routes you want to compare and send to your numbers.
Up to 20 routes of the same country and up to 10 numbers per send.
Each message ends with the name of its route in brackets, so you know which route delivered which.
Before confirming you see the final text and the cost worked out by the server.
Questions
Worth knowing.
01Do I need a phone in every country?+
No. In Test Tool we get the test number for each network. You add no recipients: you pick networks and providers.
02How much does it cost?+
€0.35 per test, and a test is one network with one provider: 4 networks with 3 providers are 12 tests, €4.20. The test SMS is not charged separately, and you see the total before launching.
03How many tests can I launch at once?+
Up to 200 network and provider combinations per send.
04Why is the DLR not enough?+
The DLR is what the provider reports about the delivery. It does not confirm that the handset received the message, nor with which sender or text it arrived. That is why the test shows both signals separately.
05What is an MNP network?+
A network whose test number is ported: it belongs to that operator today although it was assigned to another one. In the console you can filter networks with and without MNP and test them separately.
06What text can I send?+
A sender of up to 11 characters and content of up to 154. A 5-character code and a space are added before the content to identify the test: 160 characters in total.
07Where do I see the results?+
In the console's test history: 30 days of results with the same filters as campaigns, and CSV export. Through the API, tests are launched with POST /v2/tests and read back from the same history.
Test before you send.
